International recognition for probation research
In 2025, the research group received the Probation Research Award from the Confederation of European Probation (CEP). The CEP is a network of more than a hundred organisations in the field of probation, spread across 42 European countries. This prestigious award is presented once every three years to research that is of particular value to European probation practice. The jury praised the thoroughness, the combination of qualitative and quantitative methods, and the longitudinal nature of the research. In addition, the ongoing research was of great value to the field. The research thus makes a significant and lasting contribution to probation practice in the Netherlands and beyond.
