Social innovations have a profound impact on our society by offering new solutions to social, ecological, and economic challenges. Technical innovations play a crucial role in transforming society by introducing new technologies and processes that contribute to broad prosperity. We conduct research into the impact of social and technical innovations and how this impact can be increased.
Our research
Within our projects, we investigate innovations at every stage: from development to post-evaluation. We unravel the potential societal impact of an innovation and the potential benefits it could bring to society. We provide insight into the conditions that must be met in order to achieve the desired impact.
We evaluate or monitor an innovation, providing insight into its effects and side effects and which factors contribute to the result. We investigate the social added value of an innovation, focusing on the question of whether we as a society are doing the right thing by spending money on something and whether there are opportunities to increase the social added value of an innovation. We usually do this using the methodology of a social cost-benefit analysis or a derivative thereof.
This line of research focuses on the question of what works, for whom, why, and what benefits this brings to society.
