Be a student ambassador or a student assistant at Saxion!

Are you up for the challenge?

Do you want to work in an international work environment, gaining valuable job experience and having fun at the same time? Currently, we are looking for two groups of students to represent and support Saxion with multiple tasks. You can be either part of the Ambassadors or the Student Assistants. Read further below.

What are you going to do?

If you become a Student Assistant, you will represent and support Saxion and will be selectively active in:

  • The fields of events, logistics, following up of leads, communications or content creation
  • Planning and evaluating recruitment activities abroad
  • Guiding and advising potential and new incoming students with their journey
  • Being the linking pin between the international office and ambassadors

You will receive autonomous tasks under the guidance of the colleagues of Saxion’s recruitment unit and cultural office. It is important that you are able to reserve enough time next to your study, on average 6-10h per week (strongly dependent on the time of the year and the associated workload).

If you become a Student Ambassador, you will represent and support Saxion on several levels - depending on your skills and availability – and you can for example:

  • Represent Saxion at high schools, education fairs and other events (abroad and in the Netherlands)
  • Help organise and assist during excursions and other events, such as the International Sports Day, Christmas market, the tulip fields
  • Guide and advise potential and new incoming students
  • Create and appear in web content, represent Saxion online
  • Assist during the introduction periods, being mid-August till end September and mid-January till mid-February

This group of students will work under the guidance of the recruitment unit, cultural office and student assistants. The workload depends on your skills and availability.

What are the requirements?

You are a student of Saxion University of Applied Sciences and excited about both your study programme and studying at Saxion, and are:

  • A team player, open and talkative
  • Charismatic, friendly and open-minded
  • Reliable in every situation, self-directed and eager to work for Saxion
  • Ready to be active from mid-August 2018 until at least July 2019, preferably even longer
  • Flexible, friendly, willing and able to set priorities next to your studies and leisure time

In general, you possess good communication skills and have a confident appearance. In addition, you have:

  • A good command of the English language
  • Knowledge of the German or Dutch language (this is not mandatory but definitely a big advantage
  • A sense for working in intercultural environments and teams
  • A European driver’s license class B or equivalent (this is not mandatory but definitely a big advantage)

If you apply for one of these positions, you will have an interesting and educational time with the chance to gain valuable work experience. You will receive an adequate remuneration appropriate for the job, given per activity (student ambassadors) or you will be offered a temporary contract for a certain number of hours per week (student assistants).

Join the International Office and challenge yourself!

Do you believe you are the perfect candidate for one of those teams? Then don’t let this chance slip and apply as soon as possible but no later than 1 July 2018 by filling in the form, which can be used for both the student ambassadors and student assistants.

You will be informed via email or phone whether we would like to invite you to the next round of the application process, so please make sure to specify contact details which you regularly check.

Good luck!
