Personal Safety
We believe it's crucial that everyone can be themselves and feel at home at Saxion. Wondering what to do if something happens or if you don't feel safe? On this page you can find everything about personal safety and our rules of conduct. Together, let's ensure a great INTRO for everyone. 💚
Are you okay?
Make unwanted sexual behavior a topic of conversation.
Everybody has different boundaries for what behavior is desirable or undesirable. Where one person is okay with being kissed by a stranger, another does not want that at all. It is not always clear where a boundary lies. So check whether the other person likes it as much as you do, with the simple question: Are you okay? Also if you see (possibly) unwanted behavior, ask the question: Are you okay? This way you help another person if you think the situation is not okay. Together, let's make sure everyone is having a good time!

In your head - Support line (The name of this nation-wide campaign is In je Bol?)
Sometimes your head is so full that you don't know where to start. That's why there's In je bol, the starting point for feeling better about yourself. A place where you realise you're not alone. You'll find reliable information, other people's experiences and tools to get started yourself. Need to talk? Volunteers are available to listen to you, anonymously via chat or telephone. You will also find suggestions for further help, online or in your area. Whether you are stressed, feeling alone or just stuck – In je bol is there for you. (English available).
NIX18 and the INTRO
In the Netherlands, no alcohol is served to students under the age of 18. This also applies during the INTRO. Good to know: INTRO participants below the age of 18 receive a different bracelet from that issued students age 18 and up.
The staff member issuing the bracelets is authorised to ask you for your ID. If you happen to turn 18 during the INTRO, you can switch bracelets on your birthday.
The Sexual Assault Center here to help in case of traumatic sexual experience
0800-0188 is the number to call in the event of sexual assault.
Please note that this number only works if you have a Dutch provider.
Maybe you have had a traumatic sexual experience or someone you know, such as a fellow student, has had one, then call 0800-0188. We hope you don’t need this number, but please know that there is a line after a traumatic sexual experience.
Sense
Sense is the centre for sexual health. You can go there or call anonymously if you want to ask questions about STIs, pregnancy, contraception and sexuality.
