All project teams will start a new business in an HR-related context providing specialised services, processes or products to small and medium sized organisations which choose to outsource specific HR tasks. Project teams choose an HR discipline and develop a specialised service, process or product. The target group is a small or medium sized organisation. This target group needs to be specified further when writing your business plan.

In this course, a methodical approach is used for writing business plans.

Learning goals

By the end of this course, students should be able to formulate a business plan in a project team. Students do this for a small start-up business unit within a larger organisation. The purpose of this course is to explore the possibilities, challenges, risks and rewards of being an entrepreneur, or in this case, a business unit manager with profit responsibility. They will focus on the marketing of a product in an international environment, but they will also learn to evaluate the organisational, financial and environmental consequences of their ventures.

Besides developing knowledge and understanding of the basics of marketing and finance, important learning goals are to work together productively in a project team, and to further train writing and presentation skills in Business English.
