Push your boundaries!

We live in an increasingly globally connected world, where internationalisation, interculturalism and interdisciplinary approaches are no longer trends, but are becoming a necessity. In a society where borders are becoming increasingly blurred, it is time to take a hard look at those borders through our theme: push your boundaries! Whether it's national borders, or personal and professional boundaries, they will all be explored during the week.

The Global Village Festival brings together Saxion employees, students, our international partners and the international projects we are so proud of. Here we showcase our approach to interdisciplinary and intercultural collaboration. What exactly do we do? What do we think works best? And where do we see opportunities for improvement? Most importantly, not only do we want to share our methods, but we are also eager to learn from our partners. This makes it a great opportunity for mutual growth and together improving education as we know it step by step.

Our Keynote, Emma Agricola on Pushing Boundaries: Intergenerational, Interdisciplinary, and Intercultural

What generations are we currently living and working with? What characterises these generations? And how can we sustainably connect these generations across disciplines and cultures? That's what the Global Village Festival kickoff will be about. Generation expert and Diversity & Inclusion Specialist Emma Agricola of INCLUSYOUNG will, for 1.5 hours, address tantalising insights and concrete tools around this, so you can push your boundaries in a structural and inclusive way.

The Global Campfire Talks

For this second edition of the Global Village Festival, we are introducing an activity we are very proud of, namely the Global Campfire Talks!

During the Global Campfire Talks, our employees and students will share their personal life stories, and how these demonstrate the importance of internationalisation, intercultural and interdisciplinary skills. These stories often touch on current themes in their lives, leading our speakers to delve deeply into personal experiences, stepping out of their comfort zones to share with you. That's why we believe it's truly worthwhile for every employee, partner, or even student to join us.

This event will be a central feature of the Global Village programme, as the themes addressed here form the foundation of the Global Village Festival and the exploration that we will conduct together.

The festival for partners and employees

The festival offers various activities for (inter)national partners and Saxion colleagues. Think of a relevant keynote speaker, inspiring Campfire session and an engaging panel discussion on interdisciplinary and international cooperation, creative workshops and valuable networking moments.

The festival for students

We also have an interesting programme in store for students.  We want to prepare you as a student optimally for the (inter)national job market. This week is your chance to develop valuable skills, such as:

  • kickstarting your (inter)national career;
  • getting a head start on your competition;
  • overcoming personal and professional challenges with the help of practical tools.
