Saxion signs Sustainable Development Goals agreement

Reading time Minutes

On the 29th of March, during the One World Symposium, Saxion University of Applied Sciences signed the Sustainable Development Goals agreement.

The signing took place during the farewell ceremony for Chris van den Borne, director of the International Office. The sustainable development goals agreement is designed to put an end to poverty, inequality and climate change by 2030.

This fits in seamlessly with the mission of Saxion: Get Ready for a Smart World. A smarter world creates new opportunities to make real progress in tackling these issues. "We teach our students to contribute and participate in an international world, and we cooperate in international projects that further sustainable development goals", Anka Mulder said prior to the signing.

Students are involved in the educational project "Capacity Building" in India and in innovations such as the "Sheltersuit". They directly contribute to the goals and show how you can make a difference as a student and as a university.

With the signing of the agreement, Saxion primarily hopes to enthuse students and employees and enable them to contribute to the goals through projects and education.
