Update 16: Working, learning and researching online

Reading time Minutes

On Tuesday evening, March 31, the government announced in a press conference that it would extend the corona measures until April 28 and for education until after the May holiday. In anticipation of this government decision, Saxion already decided last week to extend online education to at least 1 June 2020.

This is to provide clarity to both students and teachers in order to optimally prepare for the fourth quarter and the next academic year. This decision remains in force for now. Saxion is also preparing for an extension of this period to the end of the academic year.

This of course has an impact on working, studying and researching at home. Saxion understands that working online for a longer period of time is a heavy burden for everyone who is trying to adapt to this "new normal".

Working online

Now that the corona measures have been extended and primary and secondary schools also remain closed for the time being, online teaching, working online and research will continue to demand some of your home situation. On the special site you will find answers to questions, information and instruction material that you need to learn and work online at home as best as possible. We add new information to this site regularly.

Studying and testing online

The quality of online education and online exams remains an important focus. Last week it was decided that Saxion is committed to organizing as many written and digital quartile 3 exams in alternative ways or online. You were able to read this in update 15.

This will happen from April 7 in accordance with the quartile 3 test schedule. This cannot be done in the Saxion buildings because they are closed. That is why Saxion offers these exams online where possible or in a different exam form. This way you can complete as much education as possible from quartile 3 in this quartile and redeem your credits.

For questions about exams you can contact your school. You will also receive instructions regarding exams this week.
