Two first-prize winners in the International Project Week 2020
For the first time in the history of the International Project Week, two groups received the first prize. The professional jury, consisting of representatives from leading companies in the region, decided that a replaceable battery pack and a gadget to help young people decide what study programme to choose were the best concepts.
The first winning team developed a replaceable battery pack for Electric Super Bike Twente. The battery pack can be taken out and put back in again very quickly. It is designed to reduce the pit stop time. The second winner was commissioned by the Computer Science degree programme to design a prototype for a kind of Tinder for students and programmes, in which students are told, after answering a number of questions by means of small balls, which programme suits them best.
Interdisciplinary collaboration
During the International Project Week, around 160 student teams from degree programmes ranging from Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Design Engineering, Mechatronics, Business Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering Physics and Mechanical Engineering worked on projects for companies. They did this together with pupils from secondary schools and guest students from international schools and universities. More than 1100 students from various disciplines collaborated on assignments from organisations located in the Netherlands, specifically in the region where Saxion is located. All participating groups presented their results during the 'Project Week Fair'.
