Study IHRM at Saxion: digital environment

I could imagine that there is a great number of uncertainties and fears around the corona crisis and in particular how your education might turn out to be. Due to this, I would like to share with you some insights of what your future study has done to ensure, that education will continue in the best possible manner. Spoiler alert: You should not worry but instead get ready for a very fun, enriching, and overall positive experience at the IHRM study.

Well, I can straight away inform you that the IHRM teachers and other individuals within our academy have done a lot to guarantee to us that the quality of our education will remain the same as before. From the moment that our physical classes were canceled, the teachers were able to very quickly organize themselves and together set-up a digital environment for our study. Their enthusiasm and high energy were, from the start, immediately evident. They clearly expressed to us that they are excited and ready to make this whole new experience an enjoyable one. An example of this is that - if we, as students, have any subject-related questions, we can, with ease, publish them on one of the platforms we use, and the teachers will address them in no time. To add to that, in every lecture, to this day, they are checking on how we are doing and if we do need any help with our study. This is truly wonderful from their side, they have shown to us that they genuinely care about us – the students! Oh, and most importantly, we have had all of the planned lectures since the beginning of the corona crisis! Amazing, right? They haven’t been any disturbances whatsoever in that regard. 

Alright, now we know that every single lecture is being held as it was planned. How about the exams? Once again, the lectures have adapted in that regard, and, hence, we did have all of our regular exams (regular = exams planned for the quarter we were in). Not only that but the IHRM lecturers acted thoughtfully I must say, by modifying the exams so that they fit the current situation.

Now we know that the lessons and exams are not being canceled but the opposite - they continue to be active and receive reformations, as to maintain the high-quality of the IHRM education. 

I would like to pinpoint several other elements around the IHRM programme and how I personally have dealt with the changes. Remember how I mentioned that the teachers were all excited to make this new experience work for us? Well, one of the many initiatives they took was to create a whole digital community - the so-called “Social Community”. In it, a wide variety of categories were created - from jokes (memes), music, movies, and series to individual coaching, social events (weekly pub quiz), and mental health. We, as students, have the opportunity to join every single one of them and engage with all our peers and teachers and some guests, who are there to help us out) Isn’t that wonderful? 

Last but not least, I would like to share with you that there is no need to worry about a stable internet connection. In the Netherlands, I’ve never have had such a problem. As far as I know, every single room/apartment/house is equipped with Internet.
