Saxion and Viet Duc University hospital take first step towards a sustainable collaboration

Reading time Minutes

The Vietnamese ambassador Mr. Pham Viet Anh paid his first official working visit to Saxion after its installation in May 2020. Vietnam is a strategic spear land for Saxion. Beautiful collaborations have already been created for various academies (such as LED, FEM and ACT)

During this visit to Saxion, Anka Mulder signed the agreement with the top Vietnamese Viet Duc University Hospital in Hanoi. The signing ceremony took place online in the presence of the Dutch Ambassador in Vietnam, Mrs. Elsbeth Akkerman & the Vietnamese Ambassador, Pham Viet Anh, in Netherlands. The agreement marks the first step towards a sustainable collaboration with Viet Duc University hospital, which offers opportunities for both education and research.

International Water Technology & Vietnam

The Vietnamese ambassador also visited the regional SME companies NX Filtration and Jotem Water Treatment. These companies are already active in the Mekong Delta together with the research group International Water Technology of Saxion and students from Saxion partner Ton Duc Thang University in Ho Chi Minh City investigating the production of drinking water out of surface water by means of nanofiltration.

One of the next steps is exploring the possibilities with other research groups and the positive effects of this agreement for educational programs, internships and field experiences.
