08-10-2020 Corona-update: Travel from Germany to Saxion

Reading time Minutes

The German government has declared large parts of the Netherlands, including the provinces of Overijssel and Gelderland, where Saxion is located, to be risk areas with regard to the coronavirus. The corona measures have been tightened for travelling to the Netherlands. What does this mean if you live in Germany and work or study at Saxion?

The border remains open to 'local border traffic'

Travel for work or study remains possible. The border remains open to 'local border traffic', but travel will be coordinated. Look at this Euregio page to see how it works and what you should do. Corona measures are implemented per federal state. In the federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia, for example, you are required to notify the German GGD when travelling for work or study purposes (with a duration of more than 24 hours). In the state of Lower Saxony, the duration is a maximum of 48 hours and this requirement does not apply. For the federal states that border the Netherlands you can find the latest information here:

Please contact your school or your supervisor if these travel restrictions will in some way affect your study or work.

Travel to and from other countries

For travel to and from countries other than Germany, we follow the guidelines of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
