14-04-2021 Corona-update: Timetable Term 4 almost complete
In the previous corona-update you read that we are ready to host more educational activities on location. The cabinet aims to ensure that students can have on-site education one day a week, circumstances permitting, from 26 April.
To be able to do this we will also be making use of external locations. The international degree programmes will remain fully online, as many students are still abroad. We are looking into the possibility of students meeting fellow students who are in the Netherlands, this also applies to staff.
Timetable
We are unable to publish the new timetable until next week because we are still working on the final arrangements with the external locations and it will only be clarified in the next press conference on 20 April whether students can actually have education on location again one day a week. Most of term 4 exams are scheduled to be held on location.
More opportunity to meet
We think it is important that students and staff are able to meet you more often. We are making the larger spaces in the Saxion buildings and the external locations available to do so. The schools and departments will make a schedule for groups of students and staff, so your department will let you know if and when you can come to school.
After the summer
We are also busy preparing the education for term 1 of the coming academic year. We aim to give you more information in early June about what you can expect after the summer holidays and the form of education. Around 24 August we will publish the timetable for term 1 of the new academic year. Hopefully with a lot more education on location.
Safety
We want you to feel safe and welcome in our buildings and external locations. All activities, both in our Saxion buildings and at external locations, will take place in accordance with the applicable corona guidelines: the (educational) spaces will be set up to maintain 1.5 metres distance, disinfectants will be available and clear walking routes will be indicated, a mouth mask is compulsory in public areas, we will spread the inflow and outflow over the day and you if you have any coronavirus symptoms you stay at home.
Self-testing
Coinciding with the further opening of the university, the government will make self-tests available to students and staff. These are tests that you can perform yourself and that give an instant result. By doing a self-test you help make the locations safer. This is why we think it is important to facilitate self-tests. Using one is voluntary. Of course, the corona guidelines still apply even when you have a negative test result. We expect to have more information about the distribution of the self-tests next week.
