The INTRO 2023 comes to an end. For many freshmen, this week marked the beginning of their student life. It was an incredibly intensive week with countless new impressions, a new school, a new city and new people around you. From today, regular student life begins; the perfect time to reflect on last week.

Enschede

First-year students in Enschede could get to know each other and the city during various activities. A large group of incoming students signed up to participate and filled the city with fresh energy. The peak of the day was during the INTRO concert, with performances including the artist Flemming. The participants then slept in the Pathmos Hall, where RTV Oost (local news) came to take a look at the still sleepy party people. On Thursday, they went to the swimming pool.

Fabiën, student in Creative Business in Enschede

Fabiën is a first-year Creative Business student in Enschede and shares her experience of INTRO: "The activity I liked the most from INTRO was the Crazy 88. During this activity, we all did missions around the city together with our group. I liked that the most because everyone participated even though we didn't know each other. I also really liked the pub crawl. That way you get to know the nightlife in Enschede a bit. I really enjoyed the INTRO, it's something you don't experience very often. Everyone said this is the best week of your studies, so I had high expectations. Luckily, it didn't disappoint. It's easier to make friends with the INTRO than at school itself'."

Deventer

From the foodtruck festival, De Hip to the Great Kick Off concert, Deventer was celebrating all week. During Deventer Blasts On, students stormed frantically over the obstacle course for the coveted title. Students spent the night at the Deventer City Camping across the river IJssel, where even the sun shined from time to time.

Elske, Pabo student in Deventer

Calm has returned to Deventer, but let's look back at the experience of Pabo student Elske: 'I followed the entire INTRO with my group and mum and dad. The city of Deventer was not new to me, but the school and people, of course, were. I liked the parties after dinner at Saxion the most. Those parties lasted until nine o'clock, and there was good music then. At first, I hung out a lot with people I already knew, but everyone met a few other students who joined us. That way, I still met a lot of new people. It's nice that I got to know my new class this way beforehand. The INTRO was much bigger and more intense than I expected, but I thought it was a very good start to the school year!'

Apeldoorn

During the INTRO in Apeldoorn, there was pool and bowling. Luckily, things were not all serious. There was a lot of laughing and partying. Students partied in Apeldoorn during the INTRO party at Gigant, in the city centre at various pubs, during the pizza party and pub quiz. After partying, students could sleep at StayOkay. There were also barbecues and INTRO groups could recognise each other by their self-decorated shirts.

And now get to work!

If it is up to these students, the INTRO 2023 was a great success. A heady week from which the participants were able to take a break last weekend. And from today, everyone gets to work to make sure to get those credits!
