Saxion and trade unions reach final agreement on social plan

Reading time: Minutes

Saxion and the trade unions have formally agreed to a social plan for Saxion employees. The Social Plan contains arrangements for the guidance and support of employees affected by the reorganisation. The Executive Board wants the arrangements in the plan to help provide employees with a more solid framework during an uncertain time.

As an employer, Saxion will do its utmost to help employees covered by the Social Plan to find a new job, either within or outside the organisation, and will do all it can to prevent compulsory redundancies. The restructuring of the organisation is also creating new positions that these employees can apply for while having priority status in the application procedure. The common thread running through the Social Plan is the provision of support measures and guidance to help those affected successfully move from one job to another. A total of two years is being set aside for this process.

The reorganisation which is the result of the redesign process, affects employees who work in a supporting role in either education or research. This also concerns management positions but does not affect lecturers and researchers.

The redesign will streamline Saxion’s internal organisational structure so it can operate more effectively as a leading educational institution and trusted knowledge partner in the region. The new organisational structure comes into effect on 1 January 2027.
