Biomedical science & technology is a fast developing domain. This exchange programme gives insight in some important topics in this domain. First, the student is introduced to a broad understanding of these topics. Thereafter, we are going to explore future knowledge and technology, ethical implications etcetera.
What’s it all about?
Current developments such as personalized medicine, stem cells, genomics, proteomics, metabolomics, gene therapy, bioinformatics, epigenetics, biomarkers, lab-on-chip, data analysis, in vivo and en vitro alternatives, tumor biology, infectious diseases, hereditary diseases and biotechnology.
Goals
The student is introduced to current developments in the field and deepens his knowledge within each specific theme.

The first half is intended to strengthen the basis knowlegde and understanding of some specific topics in the biomedical domain, with focus on tumor biology, infectious diseases, genetic diseases and biotechnology. During the second half we focus on state of the art knowlegde, future developments and ethical implications of biomedical research. You work both in a group and individually.
Besides Biomedical Research & Diagnostics students will be offered 2 modules Intercultural Awareness & English Academic Writing.
