Our focus
We are a technical research group conducting applied scientific research in the three areas of buildings (envelope), installations and usage. Performance of building materials, building components, installations and entire renovation and new construction concepts are assessed quantitatively with measurements and simulations. Thus, we actively contribute to solving society's resource efficiency and energy transition goals.
Result-oriented (Re)Construction
This line of research focuses on innovative and performance-oriented construction, renovation and planned maintenance of housing with sustainable energy and circularity as focus areas.
Functional Biomaterials
This line of research focuses on investigating ways to improve the performance of biological building materials, such as wood.
Data-driven Building Operation
This line of research completes the data processing chain in construction, from design through construction (production) to operation. The aim is to produce efficient installations that are adapted to each other, to the building envelope and to those using the building.
