Frequently Asked Questions

This year, INTRO will take place on Tuesday, August 25, and Wednesday, August 26, 2026. This is your first week at Saxion and your introduction to your program, your fellow students, and the student town. During this last week of August, you’ll head out with your program for an unforgettable start to your studies!  

The start of your studies starts with the Saxion introduction, here important information is shared about your studies, you get to know your classmates and you start exploring the city. This part is very important, which is why it's best not to miss it.

Yes, to participate in the INTRO, you need to register. You can do this by purchasing a ticket for the location of your study programme. Registration covers the entire programme from August 25 to 26 and is not available for individual parts. You can find all the information at saxion.edu/intro.

Please note: you cannot register only for one activity, you need to sign up for the whole programme. 

The INTRO programme is a three-day event and costs €35. It is not possible to buy tickets for individual days or separate parts, except for the Tuesday morning introduction.

The INTRO starts on the morning of Tuesday, August 25, with an introduction at your new study programme. This includes essential information and the introduction to your class. If this is the only part you can attend, you don’t have to pay and can request a free 0-euro ticket.

We want everyone to be able to participate in INTRO. For incoming students who need financial assistance due to personal circumstances, INTRO Support Tickets are available. Please contact your program and discuss the options with them.

The cost of the Saxion INTRO is €35 for the full three-day programme. If you plan to stay overnight, it’s an additional €25 per night. More information can be found at Introduction page.

The INTRO begins on the morning of Tuesday, August 25, with an introduction at your new study programme. Important information will be shared, including the introduction of your class. Can you only attend this part and not the rest of the INTRO programme? Then you don't have to pay, and you can request a free 0-euro ticket.

We will provide (limited) overnight accommodation for each location. When you register for the INTRO, you will be able to book a place to sleep in the form. If you want more info about signing up and where the overnight accommodation is located, please have a look at the Introduction Week page. You will also find info about the location and what to bring with you. 

Please note: accommodations are limited as we do not have the capacity for all students. So don't wait too long to secure your spot!

If you have signed up for the INTRO, you will receive two tokens to spend at the food trucks (Enschede/Deventer) on Tuesday and a meal on the Wednesday included in the price. In Apeldoorn, you will receive a meal with the price included on two evenings. So this will be arranged for you! 

Coins

We can imagine that you might feel like having drinks during the activities or concerts. You can buy your own refreshments at all three locations on the site using coins. Payment is entirely contactless by bank card, it is not possible to pay in cash.

Deposit coin scheme: RecycleCoin (RecycleMunt in Dutch)

During the INTRO, you will use reusable cups. Which means that there is a deposit coin scheme to follow.

How does this work? 

  1. Upon registration, you will receive a RecycleCoin from us free of charge. 
  2. When you hand in this RecycleCoin at the bar, you receive a cup. 
  3. Return your empty cup to the bar each time you get a new drink. Enough with the drinks? Return in your cup for a deposit coin. Keep it safe and return it when you order your next drink. 
  4. Do not throw your cup on the ground or in a waste bin. If lost, you pay 1 euro for a new cup/recycle coin. 

Important: A cup or RecycleCoin cannot be exchanged for money or a drink.

If you cancel your registration before 14 August, your registration fee will be refunded within five working days

The orientation session will take place on Tuesday morning between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. If you are truly unable to attend the two-day INTRO, you have the option to participate in the orientation session for your program free of charge. To register for this session, please sign up using a 0-euro ticket.

Every student joining Saxion is welcome to participate in the INTRO programme. We think it is important that the programme is inclusive and accessible. During INTRO, if you like, we can give you a pass from the Hidden Disabilities initiative. With this, you can indicate that you have an invisible support need, which is not visible to everyone. With this pass, others, such as the crew and parents, will see that you might need help without you having to mention it all the time.  So feel free to contact us if you want to make sure you can participate in all activities with your specific support request. We will be happy to think with you to determine whether any additional adjustments are needed for your participation. Please let us know via the e-mail addresses below: 

Part-time students can also participate. The program begins on Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. with check-in and registration. The main program runs from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Students can choose between a 35-euro ticket or the free 0-euro option to attend the introductory session until 5:00 p.m. Part-time students must register for the INTRO.

You will have the opportunity to indicate these in the registration form. 

During the INTRO, you can join a barbecue and a food truck festival will be organised. Pizzas will also be offered. Everything will be predominantly vegetarian, but we will also offer non-vegetarian alternatives. We hope to surprise you in a positive way with a tasty offering.

  • Enschede;  on Tuesday, August 25, between 8:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., a luggage drop-off point will be set up in the main lobby. Students will receive a wristband here that grants them access to the Pathmos Hall.
  • Deventer; On Tuesday, August 25, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., a luggage drop-off point will be set up. Students will receive a wristband here that grants them access to the campground and the ferry (operating on Tuesday and Wednesday until 2:00 a.m.).
  • Apeldoorn; During registration on Tuesday, August 25, from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., students can drop off their luggage in the tent on the Saxion campus. 

Great that you've decided to join the full INTRO program! Unfortunately, you can't make this change yourself. Please contact the location where you registered. They will cancel your free ticket for you. After that, you can purchase a new ticket for the full program yourself.
