PVT-Hybrid heat pump system concept for home sustainable renovation

The aim of this project is to develop an optimized and robust system concept for sustainable heating of homes as part of the heat transition (reduction of homes based on gas systems), with an emphasis on the existing housing buildings. An innovative PVT system is being developed to improve heat transfer. As a result, the thermal yield of the system increases, and the yield of the PV system also increases. In addition, a mathematical system model is developed and verified for sizing using a detailed system model. This project provides a validated system concept for heat pump application in homes with PVT as a source system, which offers an alternative to outdoor air and soil systems as a source system for the heat pump.

At Saxion, the project is coordinated by the research group Sustainable Energy Systems in partnership with the Ambient Intelligence research group.
At Ambient Intelligence we are currently focused on the monitoring system to collect and aggregate sensor data from all the existing home energy systems and sensors, as well as providing a modular data warehousing architecture and user dashboard for data analytics and energy management monitoring.

Topic

IoT, embedded systems, sensor data, energy transition, data management and data analytics.
