Video: looking back on the International Project Week 2024

International Project Week 2024 was held at Saxion Enschede in early February. More than 1,000 students from the technical and economic domain split into 150 teams, worked with a variety of clients on their projects. Watch the video to sample the atmosphere!

International Project Week 2024 Winners

The Project Week Award first prize went to Sabine, Luca, Laurens, Tim, Youri and Sander. Their assignment? They developed an optimally functioning wheeled beach-stretcher for Stichting Wensambulance Oost (‘Wish Ambulance East’ Foundation). Second prize went to Laurens, Mees, Siebren, Geoffrey, Florian, Quintin and Christiaan, for their EMI Twente assignment to develop a new module for membranes. Third prize in the Project Week Award went to Brendan, Michael, Bugra, Macar, Lorenzo and Rint. Their assignment was to develop an autonomous and adaptable, reconfigurable BEAST (R-BEAST) for SMART Mechatronics & Robotics.

The Onmeunig Circulair Design Award was won by Sander, Estebane, Lars, Bram, Nikolay, Else and Duc. On behalf of Uzin UTZ they searched for sustainable materials for flooring.
Louisa, Andreas, Saif, Gijs, Mathilda, Evelien, Jeroen and Ymke won the SDG Entrepreneurship Award. The social issue of sleeping problems is a global phenomenon. On behalf of Joya they looked at how sensors can measure sleeping disorders, and then how data analysis can be used to come up with an intervention product that solves the problem.

Finally, the poster prize went to Dorinde, Marco, Moritz, Ruben, Gheorghe and Bas. Their assignment for SMART Mechatronics & Robotics was to develop a group of cheap marine robots (called RecBots), that can recycle waste in real-time without disturbing the marine ecosystem.

About the Saxion International Project Week

The International Project Week is an annual event for students from the study programmes Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Industrial Design Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering & Management, Computer Science, Engineering Physics and Mechanical Engineering. Secondary school students may also take part. It is precisely this broad spectrum of experience and perspectives that enable clients’ projects to be properly addressed.
