Saxion takes the next step in redesigning its organisation
Saxion is continuing to work on building a future-proof organisation. The Executive Board has completed the detailed organisational plans for the new schools and services and submitted them to the Saxion University Council for approval.
The redesign will streamline Saxion’s internal organisational structure so that it can operate more effectively as a leading educational institution and trusted knowledge partner in the region. Saxion is facing a fall in income due to lower student intake, meaning less government funding, whilst overall costs are rising, leading to forced cutbacks. Having larger units for schools and services will enable Saxion to manage its range of education and research more effectively. In addition, by restoring the balance between the core process and support, more funds can be channelled into education and research. This will enable Saxion to remain a resilient university of applied sciences in and for the region well into the future.
Inge Grimm, President of the Executive Board: "This is an important step in Saxion’s ongoing development. These plans will strengthen our foundation for the future. This will enable us to continue investing in high-quality education, applied research and our contribution to the region in the years to come. We realise that these changes will affect our employees. This is why we are carrying out this process carefully and in consultation with the representative councils."
The Saxion University Council will consider the request for approval on 1 July 2026. Once this consultation process has been completed, a final decision will be taken on the structure of the new organisation.
This post is a follow-up to our previous post about the reorganisation of Saxion’s internal structure.
