Requirements

In order to be admitted to our programmes, you will have to meet the entry requirements below.

Besides that, the following applies to all students wanting to enrol in Creative Media and Game Technologies.

Students from partner universities

The curriculum of a partner university programme has been evaluated and based on that the content of the CMGT SDP has been determined. Students from a partner university programme are automatically accepted. By means of an interview (via Skype) your application will be discussed.

Other students

If you did not study at a partner university your previous education will be evaluated. The content of this education must have an overlap of about 70% with the Creative Media and Game Technologies programme. Depending on your previous education will be decided if you van be accepted for the SDP, if it will be a one, one or two year programme and what the content of the programme will be.

You need to submit a CV, testimonials, a letter of motivation and an interactive portfolio (website, weblog, Flickr album or something similar) to prove your previously acquired technical skills and the ability to design. You also need to submit a list of subjects you studied with a short explanation of these subjects. By means of an interview (via Skype) your application will be discussed. If possible you can do the intake assessment at Saxion.

At the end of the interview you will know if you are accepted or not and if you can do the SDP in one or two years. The result is final and binding.

At the beginning of the course you will have to do an assessment. The result of the assessment is a plan for the content of the SDP and a planning in time. There is a possibility that the outcome is a change in the amount of time is necessary to fulfil the requirements to graduate.

Other entry requirements for this programme

For this programme it is recommended to have studied the subject Mathematics.

Are you a Dutch student applying for one of our English taught programmes? Please check the entry requirements for Dutch students. The information below applies to the academic year of 2024 – 2025. These entry requirements are subject to changes in government policy and Saxion regulations.

The student must be admissible to Higher Education through a diploma with good results at least equivalent to the Dutch HAVO, VWO or MBO-4 for our bachelor programmes and four years University of Applied Sciences for our master programmes. Does your diploma match with these requirements? Check here what the Nuffic has to say about the diploma you’ve obtained.

Select the relevant country and open the pdf file. At the ‘evaluation chart’ you’ll find an overview of the most common diplomas and their comparison in level to the Dutch educational system. This will give you a clue about your admission possibilities.

The other chapters of the pdf file contain more information about the curriculum of the specific education. Sometimes it depends on the curriculum of your previous studies if your diploma will meet the full described level, so this file from the Nuffic must only be used as a guideline; our student registration will determine the final admission.

The students’ qualifications will be assessed by the Admission Officer of the specific course on the basis of the provided diplomas, curriculum vitae, letter of motivation, course description issued by the university and, if necessary, an intake interview.

As proof that you meet the English language requirement, you will be asked to upload one of the English language certificates below. The minimum required scores are applicable to our bachelor- and master study programmes.
