Aim of the course

This course focuses on experiencing Business Continuity Management firsthand. You learn to optimise the continuity of a supply chain. You make sure to support your organisation in reaching its objectives by reducing risks that originate from threats. You take the maturity of the organisation regarding Business Continuity Management into account. Your solutions should be tailored to the organisation. Also, you do not need to make the effort bigger than necessary. Progress from the current situation is what you strive for. And finally, you strike a balance between costs and benefits.

Cooperation with professionals

Each group of 4 to 5 students works with an experienced BCM professional. You will design a working prototype for a business continuity issue that an organisation faces (real-world assignment). And you manage the business continuity of your own LEGO® prefab houses production company (exercise at our university). These assignments make you understand what it means to apply BCM in practice.
