Our research results
We develop the knowledge, methods and tools to enable responsible design, guide companies and public institutions in responsible design, and teach students with practical examples how to design responsibly themselves.
All products
We develop our products around the user, around the use of materials and innovative technologies, or around our knowledge of responsible design. We develop prototypes and demonstrators, publish our insights in presentations, reports and scientific articles and share our knowledge during conferences.
Our research group is engaged in building knowledge on how to design for and with users.
For example, we have knowledge on how to design for specific target groups, or how to design inclusively for everyone. We know what research methods work with specific users. We also know how to elicit complete, accurate user information. For example, information on user needs, as well as behaviour and taboos.
Our research projects aim to find new applications for materials and technologies. For example, we use the selection method we have developed to arrive at suitable applications.
Our projects deliver reports, articles, toolkits or demonstrators. The kind of product we develop depends precisely on the situation and requirement.
Responsible Design means designing products and services that are good for society, people and the environment. Therefore, we are contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals. Our designs often start with a social and complex problem. During the design process, we consider public and personal values. For example, privacy, autonomy and social relationships. We include these factors in the design. We anticipate the impact of design on the environment, consider ethical issues and prevent side effects.
