Would you like to collaborate with us as a student?
The Industrial Design research group collaborates with students from a wide range of courses at MBO, HBO and WO level, such as Industrial Product Design (IPO), Industrial Design Engineering, Psychology, Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics. Within our research projects, students contribute their ideas on current social and technological issues, often in collaboration with companies and healthcare institutions.
Conduct practical research and build your future
As a student, you’ll be involved in applied research that makes a genuine impact. You’ll tackle real-world challenges, learn to collaborate across disciplines and build a professional network. This will ensure you’re fully prepared for your career. Take a look at the current internship and graduation projects below.
Current internships and graduation assignments
During this internship, design a sustainable alternative to a medical ventilation kit that is currently disposed of after a single use. You will investigate usage, cleaning and material selection, and collaborate with hospitals and healthcare experts.
You’re creative with visuals, language, video and/or audio, and would enjoy helping our Research Group promote our work through an internship. We’re looking for someone who wants to tell our story.
During this internship, you will design and test a flexible robotic gripper that can automatically pick up soft bread (such as croissants) without damaging it. You will work with 3D silicone printing and develop prototypes. You will also test grip strength, deformation and wear.
During this internship, you will explore how to use 3D silicone printing to create tailor-made earplugs. You will test comfort, fit and material choices. You will also compare different production processes.
Learn to design by doing in the FabLab! From redesigning a medical device to creating demo kits and awards: you’ll work independently on projects with a social impact, whilst mastering machines such as 3D printers and laser cutters.
