Forms of cooperation and quality assurance
Our research is conducted in close cooperation with public organisations, the business community and education. When we see opportunities for collaboration, we agree in advance what we expect from each other.
All forms of collaboration are possible
This can vary from a one-off brainstorming session to a multi-year research project. We can also give presentations to share knowledge and experiences.
Are you running into a particular problem, are you in need of specific research, materials, user or design expertise or are you looking for partners for your project? We could start a project together. Don’t hesitate to contact us!
We have extensive experience in user research and exploring and applying new materials and technologies. Specifically, we are at our best at the interface between technology and users. Could you use some help? Then don’t hesitate to contact us.
Saxion’s FabLab in Enschede falls under our research group. FabLab Saxion’s FabLab is a high-tech public workplace where anyone can turn their idea into reality (making it tangible) using modern digital production tools. For businesses, students, product developers, young entrepreneurs, artists and individuals: any concept can literally be made tangible!
Working together to find financing options
Do you have a research question that is appropriate for our research group, or do you have a specific problem that we may have the expertise to solve? We could start a project together. We could look for the right funding options for the project. For example, we could work together to start an application for a grant.
Grant opportunities
A number of grants are available for the applied research that we conduct.
A KIEM application offers the opportunity to conduct an exploratory study with a lead time of up to 1 year. The SME partner is required to make an in-kind contribution. This means that the SME partner spends time working on the project. In addition, our researchers will actively work on the project.
A RAAK grant award is for a more comprehensive 2-year research project with at least 6 SME parties (RAAK-SME) or public parties (RAAK-Public Scheme). The SME partner is required to make an in-kind contribution. This means that the private or public partners spend time working on the project. In addition, our researchers will actively work on the project.
TechForFuture is the expertise centre for applied research into High Tech Systems and Materials. The expertise centre is made up of Saxion and Windesheim.
Research is conducted into enabling technologies that can be widely deployed to enable innovative solutions for business and society.
Projects can be submitted and implemented via TechForFuture.
In addition to the various funding schemes, we are able to undertake paid research assignments that fall within our areas of expertise.
Quality of our research
Quality is of paramount importance to Saxion. Together, we work towards a strong quality culture, using widely supported and practical tools, and supported by quality assurance staff dedicated to research. We look at what is going well and how we can use it further. In this way, quality assurance supports the design and implementation of applied research that has an impact. We use the national standards that apply to conducting applied research, the Sector Protocol for Quality Assurance Research. Through smartly organised quality assurance, we remain transparent and accessible. We adhere to the Netherlands Code of Conduct for Research Integrity (NGWI).
