Want to collaborate with us as a student?
The Resilient Democracy Research Group works with students from different years, fields of study and knowledge institutions.
Examples of this cooperation include assignments in the context of Safety & Security lab of the Integrated Safety Studies programme and Citylab of the Public Administration/Urban Studies programme, or the Citylab of the Legal Skills exchange programme. Furthermore, students from inside and outside Saxion regularly collaborate with us on their graduate assignments and talented students join us as student assistants. We also give guest lectures at Saxion and other knowledge institutions on an ongoing basis.
Become part of our network
Interested students can contact our project manager or project support officer. We will then be able to explore with you what might be the best fit for your interests.
As a student assistant at the Resilient Democracy research group, I support researchers on various projects. My tasks range from literature review and conducting interviews to writing (advisory) reports and providing support during meetings. This allows me to deepen my knowledge, gain practical experience, and build valuable contacts within my field.
Learning and working simultaneously
The Resilient Democracy Research Group has several student assistants from different programmes. Students can get a good idea of how applied scientific research is conducted by working as research assistants in these projects.
The assignment from the research group gives me the opportunity to apply the theory I've learned in practice. I enjoy working on current topics and seeing how my work can contribute to real solutions. Thanks to the research group assignment, I have been able to greatly improve my research skills. I'm also learning to collaborate better with clients, instructors, and classmates.
Internship or graduation assignments
All students interested in the research conducted by our group are welcome to do an internship and graduation assignment with us. We are also open to applications from students from other applied universities and research universities.
As a graduating student at the Resilient Democracy research group, I am working on an assignment about polarization in the classroom. This research gives me the opportunity to apply my theoretical knowledge and practical experience to a current and socially relevant topic. I am investigating how tensions and differing opinions manifest in the classroom and how teachers can deal with them adequately. Through my work, I aim to contribute to an open, safe, and pleasant learning environment where respect and constructive dialogue are central.
Expand your options after graduation
By working with our research group during your studies, you will learn from experts through the line of researchs. You will also gain access to our extensive network. This will increase your chances of finding a suitable job when you graduate.
