Opportunity Rich Upbringing and Youthcare Quality

Opportunity Rich Upbringing and Youthcare Quality focus area uses applied research to evaluate social work methods used by child and youth workers and the outcomes of youth work. This includes specialised youth care as well as front-line facilities and support. The two focus areas are 'strengthening the pedagogical base’ and 'quality of youth support'.

Our research contributes to the development of methodologies, identifying effective elements in youth work, model-based implementation of professional practices and the impact of youth work. The Research Group also has a wealth of experience with collaboration, organisation and network building in projects involving partners from academia, research and practice. We always conduct our research together with practising professionals.

Key themes in this focus area include complex divorce, parent-child relationships, and the role of youth workers in crime prevention.
