Raising children and growing up
The Raising children and Growing up programme line uses applied research to evaluate the social work methods used by youth workers and the outcomes of youth work. This relates to both specialised youth care and the front-line field. The two spearheads are 'strengthening the pedagogical basis' and 'quality of youth work'.
With our research we contribute to the development of methodologies, the mapping of effective elements in youth work, the (model-based) implementation of professional practices and the effectiveness of youth work. In addition, the research group has a wealth of experience and ideas about collaboration, organisation and networking in projects involving multiple knowledge and practice partners. We always conduct research together with practising professionals.
The themes of complex divorce, parent-child relationships, doing what works in youth care and the role of youth workers in crime prevention are important within this programme line.
