Our focus
The Social Work Research Group focuses on three different programme lines.
Raising children and growing up
The Raising children and Growing up programme line uses applied research to evaluate the social work methods used by youth workers and the outcomes of youth work. This relates to both specialised youth care and the front-line field. The two spearheads are 'strengthening the pedagogical basis and 'quality of youth support'.
Co-existence and community
In the programme line ‘Co-existence and community', we aim to improve the quality of community life. We focus on factors at both societal and organisational level. Characteristic of this programme line is the pursuit of an inclusive society that encourages prosperity, advocates equality of opportunity and where people look out for each other.
Giving meaning and recovery
In the ‘Giving Meaning and Recovery’ programme line, we conduct research that focuses on how social work can contribute to preventing and supporting psychosocial distress and mental health problems. Inter-professional collaboration and narrative research are leading here.
