Our focus
This research group aims to use applied research to improve the quality of work and labour with lifelong learning being a given and where technology enhances people.
Inclusive Society
This line of research focuses on the sustainable employability of people with vulnerable labour market positions. We explore the potential of technology to harness the talents of people who are too often marginalised. This line of research is a joint project between Saxion University of Applied Sciences and the Verwey-Jonker Institute; it is led by Professor Ines Schell-Kiehl and Associate Professor Sjoerd de Vries.
Lifelong learning
This line of research focuses on achieving lifelong development in organisations through learning communities, attractive and effective HR(D) practices and career guidance. Within this track, we work on effective combinations of HR(D) practices that collectively encourage employees to learn and develop. The line of research is led by Professor Stephan Corporaal and Associate Professor Derk Jan Nijman.
People-centred Technology
We conduct practical research into the people-centred implementation and adoption of technology. We investigate how people and technology can enhance each other. For example, in robotics, AI and augmented reality. In addition, we investigate the impact of technology on organisational structure, quality of work, productivity and employee well-being. The line of research is led by Professor Paul Preenen and principal investigator (PI) Dr Niek Zuidhof.
