Innovative and Effective Education
The Research Group Innovative and Effective Education (IEE) conducts research and provides guidance and advice on the development and evaluation of learning processes in higher education. Research areas include innovative learning arrangements, student success and blended learning. In all of our research projects, we explore what these areas mean to the learning environment, students and teaching staff.
Our areas of expertise
Research
Our applied research is focussed on collaboration with partners in the professional field. It generates applied knowledge, often in the form of design and operating principles.
Guidance
We enjoy working together with partners in practice (e.g. lecturers, team leaders, educational experts and professionals in the field) and providing guidance in educational research, design and innovation.
Valorisation
We translate our research results into practical products and publications. We give lectures and workshops and advise partners on the design and implementation of education.

Our focus
We start from a partner’s question about a particular research area and examine how this relates to other areas.
Innovative learning arrangements
Our research group focuses on innovative learning arrangements, aimed at addressing real-world issues, so education can remain up-to-date and effectively help students prepare for a dynamic labour market. Such learning arrangements also create valuable opportunities for collaboration with social partners and contribute to the continuous development of professionals.
Student success
They key focus of our research group is student success, with attention to students’ well-being, along with their personal and professional development during their studies. This approach is based on the assumption that student success is essential to the effectiveness of education.
Blended learning
Our research group focuses on blended learning, in line with current developments in education. This approach enriches the learning experience of students, improves learning results and makes teaching more flexible.
Incorporating the insights and expertise of the Innovative and Effective Education Research Group into our work at TLC improves the quality and impact of our work. Together we can achieve more. This makes learning more rewarding and effective for all.
