Technology, Health and Care

The Technology, Health and Care Research Group works on a fit for future health and welfare sector where people and technology go hand in hand.

To achieve this, we research whether and how new technology matches the demand and technology competencies of professionals and clients. We translate these insights into tools for practice and education.

Our areas of expertise

Technology implementation in healthcare and social work

When is technology of added value and when not? And how can you integrate technology into work processes?

Bridging the gap between technical partners, clients and professionals

We work together with end users (clients and professionals) to translate their wishes and needs into technical product requirements.

Links with higher professional education and vocational education

In our projects, we work closely with higher professional education and vocational education students, and we are closely involved in the further development of affiliated study programmes.

Research group news

How can we work together?

The Technology, Health & Care Research Group works together with end users (residents, clients, patients and professionals), partners in the field of care and welfare, students, lecturers, companies and other knowledge institutions on the development and implementation of research and products for the professional field, education and science.

We work with partners in the field, companies, social organisations in the healthcare, welfare and municipality domain, with students and citizens. We set up and implement joint projects. Would you like to start a research project with us? Get in touch and explore our goals, research ideas, and funding opportunities together.

Exchanging and sharing knowledge is important to us. Does your organisation or company’s interests coincide with one of our research themes? We would like to cooperate so we can share our knowledge at meetings, workshops, events or in a network.

Together with our partners, we ensure the development, evaluation and implementation of research, products and services for professional practice, education and science. We are happy to discuss opportunities for cooperation.

Collaboration between education, research group and the professional field

Bachelor’s and master's students from the School of Social Work and the School of Health participate in our research. We also supervise interdisciplinary student groups from the Smart Solutions Semester. We also have close educational collaborations through the XR hub and we work a lot with educational institutions such as: ROC Twente, Graafschap College and Deltion.
