Meet & Greet
On Thursday, 9 July, Fashion & Textile Technologies is organizing a Meet & Greet. You're starting the programme in September and might already have had an introductory meeting with one of our lecturers. The Meet & Greet is an opportunity to meet your future classmates and your study career counsellor. You can sign up via the START application:

Before you start...
During your study you will make extensive use of mysaxion.nl; the portal to all systems and information related to your study. This platform is essential throughout your time at Saxion, so make sure to set up your profile properly.

On MySaxion.nl you will find all the tools you need for your studies at Saxion. You can find the following on MySaxion:

Your timetable and changes to your timetable;
Information about exams;
Your most recent e-mails, grades and Bison and Brightspace announcements;
Who’s who: easily search for a lecturer or fellow student;
Information about your degree programme and Saxion's facilities;
Urgent notices and news

MySaxion Student App
Thanks to the new MySaxion Student App, you can now check your phone at any moment to see your current timetable and exam timetable. If a timetable changes, then you will receive a notification. Read on to see how to install the app and what you can expect of it. 

This is the first step towards offering you a smartphone app that has all the information you could need during your studies. Download the app, available in the store now! 

Booklist

You can find the book list for your programme at Studiewinkel.nl:

You are free to purchase your books from other suppliers as well. Some books may also be available second-hand. Just make sure you are buying the correct version/edition.

Mandatory Study Materials

The programme has put together a materials package. These materials are used during practical classes in the studio, as well as in the chemical and mechanical labs.

⚠️ Note: The materials package is mandatory for all F&TT students and is listed in the 2026-2027 book list.

Laptop specifications

Saxion uses the Bring Your Own Device principle. All applications run on your own laptop. You will need this every day.

Minimally required:

Notebook at least Windows 11 or Mac OS 15 compatible
Processor: Intel Core i5 6400 of AMD Ryzen 5 1500
Memory: DDR4 minimal 8GB
Videocard: NVidia of AMD comparable to NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 or NVIDIA Quadro P2200 or higher

Required software for the course:

LiNK is the student association for the Creative Business and Fashion & Textile Technologies programmes. LiNK currently has more than 600 members.

What does LiNK do?
LiNK acts as the link between students, the degree programmes, and the professional field. Throughout your studies, LiNK organizes workshops, guest lectures, company visits, parties, social drinks, movie nights, the annual study trip, the introduction programme, and many other (study-related) activities. In addition, LiNK offers its members a wide range of exclusive deals and discounts.

Weekly Social Drinks
Every Tuesday evening, we meet for drinks at HeyJoe! in the city centre of Enschede. Feel free to join us from 9:00 PM onwards—everyone is welcome, whether you are a member or not.

LiNKtro Introduction Weekend
Every year, LiNK organizes an introduction weekend before the official introduction week. The purpose of this weekend is to help you get to know your fellow students—and perhaps even your future classmates—before your studies begin. This makes the start of your student life a lot easier and more enjoyable!

This year, the introduction weekend, also known as LiNKtro, will take place from Saturday, August 22 at 12:00 PM until Monday morning, August 24, at Erve Hartgerink in Markelo.

No need to worry—this camp is not a hazing event. The goal is simply to give you an amazing start to your student life and help you connect with other students in a fun and welcoming environment.

All LiNK activities are optional and open to both members and non-members. Nothing is mandatory, so feel free to join whichever activities interest you!

Committees
Do you enjoy organizing events, designing posters, or capturing memories through photography and videography? Become an active member of LiNK!

Within the association, we have several committees. Join one of them and help organize parties, movie nights, promotional campaigns, activities, workshops, or the introduction programme for new students. We also organize an annual study trip. Over the years, we have visited cities such as Kraków, Prague, Zagreb, and Bratislava.
