Meet & Greet
On Tuesday, 8 July, we are organizing a Meet & Greet. You're starting the programme in September and might already have had an introductory meeting with one of our lecturers. The Meet & Greet is an opportunity to meet your future classmates and your study career counsellor.

Before you start...
During your study you will make extensive use of mysaxion.nl; the portal to all systems and information related to your study. This platform is essential throughout your time at Saxion, so make sure to set up your profile properly.

On MySaxion.nl you will find all the tools you need for your studies at Saxion. You can find the following on MySaxion:

  • Your timetable and changes to your timetable;
  • Information about exams;
  • Your most recent e-mails, grades and Bison and Brightspace announcements;
  • Who’s who: easily search for a lecturer or fellow student;
  • Information about your degree programme and Saxion's facilities;
  • Urgent notices and news

MySaxion Student App
Thanks to the new MySaxion Student App, you can now check your phone at any moment to see your current timetable and exam timetable. If a timetable changes, then you will receive a notification. Read on to see how to install the app and what you can expect of it.  

This is the first step towards offering you a smartphone app that has all the information you could need during your studies. Download the app, available in the store now!  

The  Knowledge base Students page contains programme-specific information as well as useful details about Saxion facilities. You can get to Know & Regulate via 'Quick link' or 'My apps' on the homepage of My Saxion.

Studiewinkel.nl

You can order your textbooks for your studies at Saxion through Studiewinkel.nl.  Order your entire book list or easily buy individual books with a 5% student discount.

The book list can be found via the link above or by using the steps below on the website of Studiewinkel.nl (in Dutch).

  • Select Saxion in the search bar
  • Then select the location of your course
  • Select your study programme
  • View the booklist

Of course you are free to order your textbooks through other channels and suppliers. Some books are also available second hand. Please make sure you order the correct version/ edition. 

Mandatory purchase materials package

The programme has put together a materials package. These materials are used during practical classes in the studio, as well as in the chemical and mechanical labs.

⚠️ Note: The materials package is mandatory for all F&TT students and is listed in the 2025-2026 book list.

Laptop specifications

Saxion uses the Bring Your Own Device principle. All applications run on your own laptop. You will
need this every day.

  • Minimally required: Notebook (Windows or Mac) -
  • Processor: Intel Core i5 6400 of AMD Ryzen 5 1500X -
  • Memory: DDR4 minimal 8GB -
  • Videocard: NVidia of AMD comparable to NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 or NVIDIA Quadro P2200 or higher -

Required software for the course:

  • Adobe Creative Cloud (TIP: can be purchased via SURF for educational prices, purchase and licences are via SURFspot . Login to the Surfspot page is done via Saxion so Surfspot knows that you are a student). View the system requirements for the Adobe software here.
  • Hogeschooltaal English, licence purchased via Hogeschooltaal.nl (valid for 5 years)
  • Licence for WGSN, is provided by Saxion

INTRO is coming up and you don't want to miss it! 💚 This is your first week at Saxion and your introduction to your study programme, fellow students and student city. In the week of 26 to 28 August, you will go out with your study programme for an unforgettable start to your studies! Curious about your INTRO programme? 📅 Here you can find the English programme.

The programme introduction will take place on Tuesday 26 August and Wednesday 27 August.

LiNK is the study association of the Creative Business and Fashion & Textile Technologies programs. LiNK currently has over 600 members.

What does LiNK do?
LiNK serves as the link between students, the study programs, and the professional field. During your studies, LiNK organizes workshops, seminars, guest lectures, parties, social drinks, movie nights, the annual study trip, the introduction, and many more (study-related) activities. In addition, LiNK offers its members a wide range of exclusive deals and discounts.

Social Drinks
Every week, we host a social drink on Tuesday evenings at HeyJoe! in the center of Enschede. Join us from 21:00 for a fun and relaxed evening.

LiNKtro Introduction Weekend
Each year, LiNK organizes an introduction weekend prior to the official introduction week. This weekend is meant to help you get to know your fellow students and possibly your future classmates, a bit better. It’s a great way to kick off your studies more smoothly!

The introduction weekend, also known as LiNKtro, will take place this year from Saturday, August 23rd to Monday, August 25th in Delden. Don’t worry, this camp is not a hazing ritual. It’s all about making sure you have a fantastic start to your student life.

Very important note: Don’t forget to bring valid identification due to the NIX18 legislation (no alcohol under 18).

Committees
Become an active member of LiNK! Our association has several committees you can join. Sign up for a committee and help organize events such as parties, movie nights, promotions, activities, workshops, or the introduction for new students. We also organize a study trip every year, we've already been to places like Krakow, Birmingham, Zagreb, and Bratislava.

The Epy Drost building on Van Galenstraat 11 in Enschede (where the program is located) will be closed from 28 July to 15 August.

However, someone from the Front Office will be available during the holiday period:

  • 21 to 25 July: available by email and phone from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. There will also be someone present at the front desk.
  • 28 July to 15 August: only reachable by email.
  • From 18 August onwards: available by email and phone from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. There will also be someone present at the front desk.
